Quiet Time With God

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” …Mark 1:35

The quiet time I spend with God is always the best time of each day. I get my direction, strength, and purpose from Him.

I believe that I should be leading my thoughts and not my thoughts leading me like a small puppy being dragged along.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. …Philippians 4:6-8

What do I do?

I’m confused about what God wants. Two very important women firefighters are throwing away an opportunity to serve a community that needs them. I think I know why and how wrong their perception is but I don’t know what God wants. I usually blunder in and make matters worse. I do know to keep my focus on Jesus so I can keep my peace. Please pray for them and for God’s guidance.

Time Out

“Retire from the world to some quiet spot….Stay in the secret place until the surrounding noises begin to fade out of your heart and God’s presence envelopes you.”    A.W.Tozer

Give yourself a time out! What “time out” is for children, could be a good practice for us adults too, to spend time with God in prayer and meditation.
