“Training Day”, With God

I woke up greeting God and thanking Him for this day. Then my thoughts quickly shifted to what will the day hold? Today is “training day” at the fire station, the firefighters are all preparing for the coming open house, Oct 1st at 5:30. We will be inviting the public to visit their fire station, meet with the firefighters and see how they preform certain tasks. The department is giving out smoke detectors and fire safety stickers. However, today looks to be a rainy, dismal looking day. This type of day being my favorite. Grey and overcast means quiet reflective time, usually spending a fair amount of time in the kitchen. I love cooking. So me and my God can relish this peaceful time together. I can get to know Him better since He is always with me. The joy and peace that our Lord brings is the only perfection on earth. My hope is that He is training me for heaven!

Get busy, time’s a-wastin’. There are people all around us who don’t even know the God we worship. I hope God can use me, that I can help spread His word, while I occupy space here on earth.

They were looking intently up into the sky as Jesus was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them.”Men of Galilee” they said,”why do you stand here looking into the sky? this same Jesus, who has been taken into heaven, will come back the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” …Acts 1:10-11

Heavenly Ukulele Music?

I am reading about a boy who came back from heaven but didn’t like the music he heard as he entered. He was six years old and the music was played on instruments with long strings. I’m guessing harp? It got me thinking about my favorite musical instrument, my ukulele, so I broke it out, dusted it off, found my music sheets and began singing away,  playing all my religious songs with fervor. Yes, I’m reading another great book to make you praise God with a grateful heart. I’m grateful for how remarkable, wise and wonderful this child is. Alex Malarkey is his name and the book is The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven by Kevin and Alex Malarkey. I’m grateful that no one but God heard me sing. The Uke in the picture is made from a cigar box and sounds great. It is #45 made in Austin, Texas by B Gann.

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous” Psalm 34:19 This family is all of that, and a great example for all of us!
