“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” …Galatians 5:22-25
If you are wondering how this can be accomplished in an absolutely imperfect vessel then you’re not alone. All things are best left for God to fix. For me it’s a journey in trust. I am filled with vanity, it’s not a good fruit! Yesterday I went off to bible study and choir practice with two different shoes on my feet. I had been wearing a pair of black sneaker shoes while painting my front door “Christmas red” and when I got changed in a hurry I put on one dress shoe. None of my mirrors are full length and I didn’t discover my mistake until I got home and was changing into my nightgown. I collapsed with laughter, pride and vanity flew out the window. I felt very humbled. God knows what I needed, I didn’t earn that gift, it was freely given and gladly taken. God gives us great gifts when we trust Him.
